RV Taipan setup instructions:
Output files are as follows:
----------------------------
TAIPAN.ANS Scoreboard file in ANSI
TAIPAN.ASC Scoreboard file in ASCII with pipe code colours
TAIPAN.TXT Scoreboard file in plain text
Here are the command line options:
----------------------------------
LOCKED:xxxxx locks the modem at the speed given
LOCAL forces it into local mode
NETWORK forces file sharing IF you're using something other than SHARE
to manage file locking
IRQ lets you set a non-standard IRQ
ADDR=&Hxxxx lets you set a non-standard comport address
PS2 forces PS/2 IRQs and addresses if a PS/2 isn't autodetected
RBBS forces it into DORINFO1.DEF mode
WILDCAT forces it into CALLINFO.BBS mode
DOORSYS forces it into 31-line DOOR.SYS* (GAP) mode
PCB121 forces it into PCBoard 11.8/12.x mode with COM1 active
PCB122 forces it into PCBoard 11.8/12.x mode with COM2 active
PCB14 forces it into PCBoard 14.x mode
* Telegard & T.A.G. systems both drop the infamous short version of
DOOR.SYS, which will _NOT_WORK_ with this door. If you run such a
board, run in some other mode; personally, I prefer DORINFO1.DEF
for its small size.
To test it locally, I suggest:
TAIPAN DOOR.CFG LOCAL
For a fairly generic setup at 14.4, try this:
TAIPAN DOOR.CFG LOCKED:19200
For most 28.8 modems, give this a shot:
TAIPAN DOOR.CFG LOCKED:38400
If that doesn't work, add the appropriate BBS-type forcing option.
(example: TAIPAN DOOR.CFG LOCKED:19200 RBBS)
If THAT doesn't work, let me know. <g>
